-- Following the unveiling of the Satan shoes that rapper Lil Nas X and the company MSCHF collaborated on using the Nike Air Max 97, Adidas was quick in responding to the buzz as they announced the release of their Jesus Shoes.
It is important to note that MSCHF had previously made a Jesus shoe that contained holy water with the same Nike Air Max 97 model.
A spokesperson from Adidas said, “It’s always Nike in the public eye and getting the media’s attention. You know O.J. wore Nike, the Royal Family famously chose them over us, and Weinstein sported the Monarchs before he went to prison. Always in the spotlight. So, that's why we decided to get in on the hype and create our own Jesus shoe.”
The Adidas Jesus shoe will feature a picture of Jesus on the toe box, a crucifix with a piece of Jesus himself attached to the middle stripe on the upper, and a custom bible verse on the lateral heel area of the midsole. Adidas is also incorporating holy water into the Boost support system to make it feel like you are walking on water. The company will also use crumbled pieces of the Body of Christ in the shoe box to secure the shoes.
Adidas is hoping Christians around the world become outraged and take to social media demanding the shoes be discontinued for using Jesus’ “likeness” to make a profit.
