-- A new viral video has swept the internet this week. Popular YouTube channel, Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan, published an interview with 55 Neighborhood Crip Gang Member, Crip Mac A.K.A. CMac Da Loc. The undoubtedly entertaining interview has unfortunately led to several tragic effects within the Los Angeles community.
Since clips from the interview have gone viral on TikTok, plenty of non-black Los Angeles locals have ignorantly banged 55th Street on both social media and, according to reports, in-person. This has sadly led to gang-related retaliation from opposing gangs.
News first broke on Friday that 19-year-old white boy from Brentwood, Cody Eppenbaum, sporting a fresh “55” tattoo above his left eyebrow, was gunned down by an Avenue Piru Gang member after he heard Cody call a Chick-Fil-A worker a “custer” while exclaiming, “On 55th Street!”
Reports like these continued to roll in throughout the week.
Edgar Jimenez, a 21-year-old who drove a 1994 sun-damaged Acura, was pronounced dead at the scene of a Los Angeles nightclub after being stabbed by a Crenshaw Mafia member for dancing with a five fingered open palm on his forehead while attempting to crip walk.
Transgender Asian, Ashley Lin, 20, has been missing since last week according to a friend of hers told us she went to 52nd Street to suggest she become a driver for the Hoover Crips.
We caught up with Crip Mac himself to get his reaction to the events.
“Imma keep it 55th Street.. I cee CUSTERS out here thinkin' they can cust five da gram and s***,” Crip Mac said as he crushed an Olde English. “Keepin’ it 55th Street, they ain’t know shootas on every corner ready to cust they ass. Cee careful out there cuhz.”
