FOX Quickly Cuts To Commercial After Ortiz Goes Into Story About Shooting

by Drew Valdez

-- While the MLB on Fox crew broke down the Reds/Cardinals game, former AL MVP and 3-time World Series champion with the Boston Red Sox, David Ortiz took a brief pause in dialogue as an opportunity to go into detail about the 2019 shooting in the Dominican Republic that nearly claimed his life.

“The shooting, man. The shooting..” Papi began to say as Pedro Martinez pushed a senior producer of the show to the ground off screen.

“It hit me like dat, BOOM! And like dat, BOOM!” Ortiz explained as he clapped with each “boom.”

Fox luckily cut to commercial before Ortiz admitted he was doing “a little coke” and “only paid for two” in reference to the prostitutes he was with at the bar before he was shot.

In an attempt to make it less awkward, co-host Alex Rodriguez blurted out, “I cry about J-Lo every night!” as the show returned from break.
