Mattel To Introduce New "Quarantine Barbie"

By Drew Valdez

-- Yesterday, Mattel CEO Ynon Kreiz announced the company will be introducing the new Quarantine Barbie as a new edition to the legendary toy line that is Barbie. Kreiz said, “We want to stay relevant during this pandemic and seeing as it doesn’t have a definite end, we thought it would be great to give children something relatable they can play with during this time of quarantine.”

According to reports, the Quarantine Barbie playset will include five other family members living with Barbie in a small house that has thin walls. The home will come fixed with one bathroom and no toilet paper as toilet paper will be sold separately. Each doll will have an audio feature that allows it to say some fun phrases like, “We already watched that movie” and “Shut up! Shut up! Everyone just shut the f*ck up!”

Barbie herself will come dressed in sweatpants and a hoodie as well as wearing a medical face mask. “We wanted to create a realistic depiction of how Barbie would dress and behave during a time like this,” said Kreiz.

The CEO additionally revealed that Ken will be the first Barbie doll ever to have contracted the coronavirus and be released in a special “Coronavirus Self-Isolation” pack. The set will include a single room that Ken cannot be removed from. “Again, we want to show that no one is safe from this horrible disease,” said a candid Kreiz.
