MLBPA Moves To Infect 2017-2019 Astros Teams With COVID-19 As Punishment For Cheating

By Drew Valdez

-- In what was supposed to be a season full of boos and hatred towards the Astros, the current global pandemic has delayed that compounded punishment for the cheaters. With the reality of the 2020 season being shortened, the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) has decided on a supplemental punishment for the cheaters: COVID-19 infection.

Members from the 2017-2019 Astros teams have been notified they will all live together in a secluded home “Real World” style while they fight the disease.

Some members of the club are in high spirits. Former manager A.J. Hinch said, “You know, I think if we just get some video on it [the virus], we’ll be able to beat this thing.” Former bench coach Carlos Beltran said, “I heard the virus can’t survive sudden bursts of sound, so we’re gonna be banging on things, making loud noises to help kill it.”

When we knelt down to speak with Jose Altuve he said, “I’m kinda worried because I just got another tattoo, like the one I got during the ALCS last year, and I don’t want it to get messed up like my other tattoo, the one I definitely got during last year's playoffs.”

We learned that Josh Reddick received late notice of the punishment as the league forgot he was on the 2017 World Series team.
